The Ottawa Senators have acquired defenceman Travis Hamonic from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Hamonic has played 699 career NHL games with the New York Islanders, Calgary Flames and Canucks and has tallied 205 points (43 goals).
The 31-year-old won the NHL Foundation Player Award in 2016-17. The award is given annually to the player 'who applies the core values of (ice) hockey -- commitment, perseverance and teamwork -- to enrich the lives of people in his community.'
The third-round pick going to the Canucks is Vancouver's initial third rounder. The pick had originally been sent to Vegas Oct. 12, 2020 for Nate Schmidt before the Senators acquired it from the Golden Knights, alongside Nick Holden, on July 28, 2021.
