The Ottawa Senators might have their long-term sights set on Lebreton Flats, but are still very focused on improving the fan experience at Canadian Tire Centre.
At the team’s media launch event on Thursday morning, the organization announced that the upper rows between sections 328 and 301 were being renovated and converted into a fan deck.
Renovations began immediately after a sold-out Luke Bryan concert on Aug. 30, with the goal of completing the new space before the beginning of the regular season, namely the team’s home opener against Philadelphia on Oct. 8.
With a capacity of 350 fans, the Fan Deck will be open to anyone in the building with a ticket. General Admission standing room tickets will go on sale for select games. Fans can expect there to be full bar service and food stations added. Additionally, games, giveaways, and activations will also be part of the overall experience on a nightly basis.
“If you look around not only hockey, but baseball, major sporting events, other arenas, a big focus is on social spaces,” said Chris Phillips, Vice President of Business Operations.
“It’s an area that allowed us to build out a social space that’s going to be new, exciting, and fun, and I think it’s going to be a great addition to the arena.”
