gamedaynotes-dec22-NHL

It's the Sens last game before the holiday break and we've got everything you need to know ahead of tonight's 7 p.m. start at Canadian Tire Centre against the Washington Capitals.

Projected Line-up

We've got a pair of changes to tonight's Sens projected line-up as both Nick Paul and Justin Falk will draw back in to active duty against the Capitals. Sens head coach Guy Boucher shared that with Washington being a bigger and more physical team, he's looking to counteract some of that with the additions of Paul and Falk.
Paul has split his time between Ottawa and Belleville this season and has appeared in 10 games with the NHL club this season while Falk has skated in 9 since signing a two-way contract with the Senators at the end of November. The coach also mentioned that he'll once again deploy 11 forwards and 7 defencemen and that Tom Pyatt and Max Lajoie will act as the extra skaters tonight.
Here's a look at the Sens projected line-up for this evening...
Tkachuk - White - Stone
Tierney - Duchene - Boedker
Dzingel - Smith - Ryan
Paul - Paajarvi
Chabot - DeMelo
Harpur - Ceci
Borowiecki - Jaros
Falk

In Goal

The Sens will turn to Mike McKenna (1-2-1) in net tonight against the Capitals as Craig Anderson has been ruled out with an upper-body injury. Anderson left last night's game in New Jersey following the second intermission after a collision with Miles Wood early in the contest and McKenna was perfect in relief, stopping all 7 third period shots he faced.
McKenna's last start at Canadian Tire Centre was a dazzler as he turned aside 42 of the 44 shots his faced before dropping a 2-1 decision to the Bruins in overtime.
Marcus Hogberg has been recalled from Belleville and will be on backup duty this evening.

Sparty's 1,000th Game

Pretty cool milestone at tonight's game as Spartacat will take part in his 1,000th career home game. I'm pretty sure that the cat has lots of shenanigans up his sleeve for his big game and you can take part in the festivities by being one of the first 10,000 people through the door where you'll receive some sweet Sparty hair to commemorate his accomplishment.
