This year, for the first time, all participants who register for a full or half-day camp by Feb. 28 will receive a Sens Hockey Programs performance long-sleeve shirt and shorts combo (valued at over $50) as an early-bird bonus to enhance their summer camp experience.
"Our hockey program management team begins planning for each summer camp season almost as soon as the previous season concludes," said Andy Bryan, Sensplex facilities director of hockey programs. "We are always looking for ways to add more value by improving our camp features and curriculum, while also determining which new camps to add each year. We feel that by offering this incredible early-bird bonus package, it will accomplish that goal, while also motivating parents to check out our exciting new camp lineup earlier in the year, as they make their decisions about which of our camps to select for this summer."
New to the 2018 camp lineup is the Ultimate Speed Camp, Dominant Defender Camp, Girls Only Compete Camps and the Extreme Stickhandling Camp, an ice-only camp created exclusively for advanced players to develop elite stickhandling techniques and control the puck better in tight spaces or in open ice. The Sens Goalie Camp by Pierre Groulx , which features on and off-ice instruction from Ottawa Senators goaltending coach Pierre Groulx throughout all sessions, returns this year along with the successful Girls Only Scoring Camp, which provides female campers the best opportunity to improve their offensive game. They join the many other staple camps which provide players from beginner to elite their best skill development opportunities each off-season.
The 2018 camp lineup will continue to include unique Senators experiences, apparel and special guests. Last year's camps featured appearances by players, prospects and alumni including Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Cody Ceci, Chris Wideman, Mark Borowiecki, Ben Sexton, Nick Paul, Todd White, Brendan Bell and Brad Smyth.
With an exceptionally-trained staff led by a team of hockey program and skill development experts, all camps offer a fun, safe and supportive environment designed to help each player improve his or her abilities, whether it's pushing elite players to their limits or helping beginners learn the fundamentals of the game. The Ottawa Senators Hockey Camps are also the only hockey camps in the Ottawa-Gatineau region (and one of only two in Ontario) accredited by the Ontario Camps Association, which shows that it meets the highest standards in safety, supervision and quality programming.
