Toast of Hockeytown

Established as one of metro Detroit's most unique 21+ events, Toast of Hockeytown provides guests with unparalleled access to Detroit Red Wings players, local culinary delights and craft beverages while raising more than $200,000 annually to benefit the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.

50/50 Charity Raffle

The Detroit Red Wings Foundation 50/50 Raffle program proudly supports various charitable organizations throughout Michigan. The program provides non-profit organizations with the opportunity to raise funds in conjunction with the Detroit Red Wings Foundation by selling raffle tickets during select Red Wings home games. Since inception, the 50/50 Raffle has raised more than $600,000 for local non-profits and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.

Autographs for a Cause

Autographs for a Cause supports charitable causes close to the hearts of Detroit Red Wings players in partnership with the Detroit Red Wings Foundation. Through this program, fans are invited to send hockey cards and/or photos through the mail for Red Wings players to autograph in exchange for a donation to benefit the player's charity of choice.

MotorCity Casino Hotel Red Wings Charity Poker Tournament

Each season, fans receive an opportunity to go head-to-head with current and former Detroit Red Wings players in a game of Texas Hold 'Em at MotorCity Casino Hotel's Annual Red Wings Charity Poker Tournament benefiting the Detroit Red Wings Foundation. The event helps the Detroit Red Wings Foundation contribute significant funds toward the growth of the sport of hockey.

Tim Hortons "I Love the Red Wings" Donut

Last season, Tim Hortons donated over $82,000 to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation to support the growth of hockey in Metro Detroit from sales generated throughout Michigan with their signature "I Love the Red Wings" donut.

PROGRAMS 

 

School Assembly Program

In 2016, the Detroit Red Wings Foundation committed more than $100,000 to the School Assembly Program to introduce the sport of hockey and continue to educate students on the importance of exercise, healthy eating and anti-bullying. The Detroit Red Wings Foundation provides each school visited by the School Assembly Program with the following:

  • Two full sets of floor hockey equipment complete with Red Wings-branded hockey sticks and nets
  • In partnership with USA Hockey, floor hockey guide books for gym teachers which include information on proper techniques, drills and activities for kids to better learn the game of hockey and develop a passion for the sport
  • Interactive, educational Red Wings folder for each student
  • In partnership with RISE (The Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality), every teacher receives a RISE Teacher Kit to help students explore cultural aspects of the nine countries from which Red Wings players hail
