Rangers 2018 first round pick Vitali Kravtsov got off to a strong start at the 2018 U20 Four Nations Tournament with a goal, power play assist and shootout goal to help Russia edge the host country Sweden, 4-3, in the tournament-opening contests on Friday.

Kravtsov, the ninth overall pick in June's draft, opened the scoring in the first period and added his power play assist in the second period. He beat goaltender Adam Ahman the even the shootout at a goal each.

Fellow Rangers prospects Jakob Ragnarsson and Calle Sjalin represented Sweden, with Ragnarsson finishing with one shot on goal and Sjalin with one as well in addition to 12 penalty minutes.
Kravtsov and Russia will now face the Czech Republic, while Sweden battles Finland, both later today.
