EDMONTON, AB – Goaltender Devon Levi recorded 20 saves in his return from injury, while Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl each had three points as the Edmonton Oilers ended a mini two-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at Rogers Place.
"I thought they played a good game," Levi said. "I thought we played really well, too. Solid defensively and checked well. It's a tight game. I love playing those games. It's 1-1 going into the third period, and you're probably going to have to come up with one or two, so it was a fun game."
After Mattias Ekholm opened the scoring for the Oilers in the first period, Jason Dickinson broke a 1-1 tie only 49 seconds into the final frame, then Draisaitl recorded the game-winner on the power play less than three minutes later before adding an empty-netter late in regulation to seal the victory on Hockey Fights Cancer Night.
Draisaitl's tallies were his 15th and 16th goals of the campaign, tying Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov for the league lead, to go along with his assist on Ekholm's first-period tally.
The German is now on a three-game goal streak and has recorded back-to-back multi-point games.
