Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said Callahan is "banged up" will be a game-time decision. Jonathan Marchessault skated alongside Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson during the line rushes.
Center Cedric Paquette (illness) won't play for the Lightning. Forward Valtteri Filppula, who skated with a non-contact jersey Saturday, will miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury.
Ben Bishop will start in goal for the Lightning, who have lost two straight and five of the past six games, and are third in the Atlantic Division. Bishop had allowed two goals in his previous four road starts before allowing four in the 4-3 loss against the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
The Coyotes will be without defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson for a fifth straight game because of a shoulder injury. He leads the team with 30 assists and 49 points.
Arizona is 3-0-1 in the past four games and has allowed one goal in the past two games.
Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann had a maintenance day Friday, coach Dave Tippett said. Arizona on Friday recalled defenseman Philip Samuelsson from Springfield of the American Hockey League.
Goalie Mike Smith had more wins (two) than goals allowed (one) in his return to the lineup after missing 40 games following abdominal surgery.
Tippett will go back to Louis Domingue against the Lightning and play Smith on Sunday against the San Jose Sharks, a team he has had success against in his career.
Smith had four days between his first and second start and will have three days before the next one as he eases back into things.
"Smith has played two games now and with the back-to-back we knew both of them would play so we'll let Louis get back in there [Saturday]," Tippett said. "It's been great to see Smitty come back and play well and this gives him an extra day to get ready for San Jose."
The Coyotes are nine points behind the Colorado Avalanche for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.
"We still have something to play for. Until you're out, you're not out," Tippett said. "We've been taking care of everything we can control the last week here and the goal is to keep doing that."
