RUST (HAT TRICK), PENGUINS POST ANOTHER COMEBACK WIN

Trailing 4-2 in the second period, the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied for an 8-5 victory against the Ottawa Senators helped by Bryan Rust's first NHL hat trick (3-1-4).
* The Penguins overcame a two-goal deficit to win for the second consecutive game and sixth time in their 16 wins this season after accomplishing the feat seven times all of last season (48 wins).
* Rust's hat trick included a highlight-reel
penalty shot goal
, an even-strength goal and an empty-net goal. Per Elias, he is the second player in Penguins history to have a hat trick that included a penalty shot goal. The other: Mario Lemieux, who scored five goals five different ways (even-strength, power play, shorthanded, penalty shot and empty net) as part of an eight point night (5-3-8) against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 31, 1988.
* Evgeni Malkin (1-2-3) extended his point streak to six games (2-9-11), while Sidney Crosby scored to extend his point streak to five games (3-5-8) and regain the NHL lead with 17 goals.

OVERTIME HEROICS

The Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals each earned overtime victories on Monday:
* David Pastrnak (2-0-2) scored the game-winning goal at 1:23 of overtime to help the Bruins earn their third consecutive win and extend their point streak to five games (4-0-1). Pastrnak has 15 goals this season (21 GP), which ranks third in the NHL and matches his career high set in 2015-16 (51 GP).
* Marcus Johansson (2-0-2) scored the game winner at 2:38 of overtime to help the Capitals to victory following a three-game losing treak (0-2-1). Johansson is second in the League with five game-winning goals, including two that have come in overtime.

MCDAVID, EICHEL TO MEET IN NHL FOR SECOND TIME

The top two picks of the 2015 NHL Draft will play against each other for the second time in their NHL careers when Connor McDavid and the Oilers visit Jack Eichel and the Sabres. McDavid leads the League with 34 in 27 games, including 10 multi-point games. Eichel, who missed Buffalo's first 21 games because of a high-ankle sprain has three goals and four points, including a game-winning goal, in his first four games. In their only previous head-to-head game on March 1, McDavid scored both Oilers goals, including the overtime winner, in a 2-1 victory against the Sabres in Buffalo.
