The Columbus Blue Jackets, committed to using its resources to enrich the lives of students through the National Hockey League club's Hockey in the Classroom initiative, announced today that registration for the club's educational programs for 2020-21 is now open. These programs, which are offered at no cost, include hockey-themed science, technology, engineering, math (STEM); literacy, wellness and academic achievement offerings. In addition, the Blue Jackets will continue their Adopt-A-School Program with Avondale Elementary. Located in one Columbus's most vulnerable neighborhoods, Avondale students have the chance to interact and engage with CBJ staff through pen pal program, ice skating parties, and more! To assist with the challenges of remote learning, the Blue Jackets donated CBJ branded dry erase boards to all Avondale students during their supply pick up days.
