Emerging From the Pack

  • Lias Anderssontallied a point in two of Hartford's three games during the week (one goal, one assist). The Rangers' first round pick (seventh overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) in eight games with the Wolf Pack this season, and he has tallied at least one point in six of the eight contests. Andersson leads the Wolf Pack in points and penalty minutes (13), is tied for the team lead in goals, and ranks third in assists and shots on goal (19) this season. Among all AHL players younger than 21 years old, the 20-year-old Andersson is tied for second in points this season. He has registered 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 33 career AHL games (0.67 points per game).
  • Alexandar Georgievappeared in two games with the Wolf Pack during the week, and he stopped 57 of 63 shots in the two contests (.905 SV%). Georgiev, who was assigned to Hartford on Oct. 18, made 25 saves and earned a win while making his first AHL appearance of the season on Oct. 19 at Belleville, and he made 32 saves the following night at Toronto. Georgiev was recalled by the Rangers on Oct. 22.
  • Chris Bigrastallied an assist/point in all of Hartford's three games during the week (three assists). Bigras has registered seven points (one goal, six assists) and has posted a plus-six rating in eight games this season, and he is tied for eighth in the AHL in plus/minus rating thus far in 2018-19. He is also tied for fifth among AHL defensemen in assists and points this season, and he is tied for the team lead in assists. Since he was acquired by the Rangers from Colorado on Feb. 26, 2018, Bigras has tallied 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) in 26 AHL games with the Wolf Pack.
  • Steven Fogartyrecorded two goals, including a power play goal, on Oct. 17 at Laval. The Rangers' third round pick (72nd overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft registered six points (three goals, three assists) over the first six games of the season and tallied a point in five of the six games. Fogarty is tied for the team lead in goals (three), and he is also tied for fourth on the Wolf Pack in assists (three) and points (six) thus far this season. Fogarty registered 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) last season with Hartford, and he made his NHL debut with the Rangers on Apr. 7, 2018 at Philadelphia.
  • Cole Schneiderregistered a goal/point in two of Hartford's three games during the week. Schneider has recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in eight games with the Wolf Pack this season, and he is tied for the team lead in goals thus far in 2018-19.
  • Peter Hollandrecorded three assists/points in three games during the week. He has registered seven points (one goal, six assists) in eight games with the Wolf Pack this season, including five assists/points in the last five games, and he is tied for the team lead in assists in 2018-19.
  • Ty Ronningtallied his first goal/point of the 2018-19 season on Oct. 19 at Belleville. The Rangers' seventh round pick (201st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft registered 84 points (61 goals, 23 assists) in 70 games with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) last season, and he set a new Giants' single-season record for goals, which was previously held by Evander Kane.
  • Rob O'Gararegistered a shorthanded goal on Oct. 20 at Toronto, and he posted a plus-four rating over Hartford's three games during the week. O'Gara, who was acquired by the Rangers from Boston on Feb. 20, 2018, has registered two points (one goal, one assist) and a plus-two rating with the Wolf Pack this season.
  • John Gilmourtallied an assist on Oct. 17 at Laval. He has recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in eight games with the Wolf Pack this season. He split last season between the Rangers and Wolf Pack; at the time he was recalled by the Rangers from Hartford on Feb. 9, 2018, Gilmour was tied for seventh among AHL defensemen in assists (20) and points (26) in 2017-18. Gilmour represented the Wolf Pack at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic, and he won the Fastest Skater title during the AHL All-Star Skills Competition.
  • Michael Lindqvisttallied an assist and posted a plus-one rating on Oct. 19 at Belleville, and he has registered four points (two goals, two assists) in eight games with Hartford this season. The 24-year-old, who signed with the Rangers as a free agent on May 2, 2018, registered 34 points (20 goals, 14 assists) in 33 games with Färjestad in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) last season, and he led the league (min. 20 games played) in goals per game in 2017-18 (0.61).
  • Ville Meskanentallied an assist and posted a plus-one rating on Oct. 19 at Belleville, and he has recorded four points (one goal, three assists) in eight games with Hartford this season. The 23-year-old, who signed with the Rangers as a free agent on May 3, 2018, registered 44 points (24 goals, 20 assists) in 48 games with Ilves in Liiga last season, and ranked third in the league in goals in 2017-18.

  • Vitali Kravtsovregistered an assist and posted a plus-one rating on Oct. 18 against Barys Astana. The Rangers' first round pick (ninth overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft has recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) in 19 games with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) this season; he is tied for third on Traktor in goals, ranks second on the team in shots on goal (40), is tied for second on the team in even strength goals (two), is tied for fourth in points, and is tied for fifth in assists in 2018-19. Kravtsov notched his seventh point of 2018-19 in his 18th game of the season, matching his regular season point total from last season in 17 fewer contests. Among KHL players younger than 20 years old, the 18-year-old Kravtsov (who turns 19 years old on Dec. 23) ranks first in the league in points this season.

  • Igor Shesterkinearned his eighth win of the season on Oct. 15 against Spartak. The Rangers' fourth round pick (118th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has posted an 8-0-0 record, along with a 0.87 GAA, a .963 SV% (184 saves on 191 shots), and four shutouts in eight KHL appearances in 2018-19. He is tied for first in the KHL in shutouts, and he ranks second in the KHL in GAA and SV% thus far this season. In 75 KHL regular season appearances since the start of the 2016-17 season, Shesterkin has posted a 63-6-3 record, along with a 1.57 GAA, a .938 SV%, and 19 shutouts.
  • Nico Grosstallied an assist and posted a plus-two rating on Oct. 21 vs. Peterborough. The Rangers' fourth round pick (101st overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft has notched three points (one goal, two assists) and has posted a plus-six rating in 11 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season, and he has registered two points (one goal, one assist) over the last four games. Gross is tied for third on Oshawa - and is tied for first among team defensemen - in plus/minus rating thus far in 2018-19. Barron has recorded three points (one goal, two assists), nine shots on goal, and a plus-four rating in two exhibition games this season. The Rangers' sixth round pick (174th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft registered 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) and a plus-10 rating during his freshman year at Cornell in 2017-18, and he received the Greg Ratushny Award as Cornell's most promising rookie player, as selected by his teammates.
