Predators clinch playoff berth

Qualify in Western Conference when Avalanche lose to Capitals @NHLdotcom

The Nashville Predators clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Friday when the Colorado Avalanche lost 4-2 to the Washington Capitals.

The Predators (39-26-13) hold the first wild card from the Western Conference and trail the Chicago Blackhawks by four points for third place in the Central Division. The Blackhawks defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 in overtime Friday.

Nashville did not play Friday. The Predators host the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
