NASHVILLE --Pekka Rinne made 19 saves for his fifth shutout, and Filip Forsberg scored in his return to the lineup in a 5-0 win for the Nashville Predators against the Los Angeles Kings at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday.
Rinne has shutouts in two consecutive starts. He got a 3-0 win against the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 25.

"I'll take that any given day," Rinne said. "That's a really solid game by us, solid defensively, solid offensively. Of course, sometimes it's nice to face a lot of shots and feel good, but I'll take this game any given day. I think it was 19 shots and not busy at all. It was perfect. It was fun to watch."

Forsberg returned after missing 11 games with an upper-body injury. The Predators (30-12-7) had a healthy lineup for the first time this season.
"I think we've been a great team all year, to be honest with you, with missing guys almost all the time and still managing to put up a lot of points and win a lot of games," Forsberg said. "I'm excited going forward."
Jonathan Quick made 31 saves for the Kings (27-19-5), who had won two in a row. Quick returned after missing two games with an undisclosed injury.
"We ended up chasing the puck and not getting in tough areas and allowing them to get in a lot of tough areas," Kings coach John Stevens said. "That's what happens when you lose a lot of puck battles. It was probably the mirror opposite of what we did [Tuesday] night [in a 3-0 win at the Dallas Stars]. They did it to us. We better learn from it. You're not going to beat good teams when you lose puck battles to that degree."
Craig Smith gave the Predators a 1-0 lead at 10:02 of the first period on the power play. Ryan Johansen took the original shot from the left face-off circle, and Smith beat Quick on the rebound for his 16th goal.
Forsberg made it 2-0 at 16:02 on a two-man advantage. Kevin Fiala passed the puck to Forsberg from behind the net, and he beat Quick for his 16th goal.
"It was good," Forsberg said. "Obviously a big win for the team, and I'm more than happy to help."
Calle Jarnkrok increased the lead to 3-0 at 17:21 when he intercepted a pass behind the net from Kings defenseman Drew Doughty and jammed the puck past Quick for his 11th goal.

Colton Sissons made it 4-0 at 11:01 of the second period on a shot from in front. Miikka Salomaki made a pass from behind the net, and Sissons scored his fourth of the season.
Viktor Arvidsson scored at 9:44 of the third period for a 5-0 lead. Johansen got the puck to Forsberg in the middle of the ice, and he found Arvidsson for his 16th goal.

"Start to finish, I thought we dictated the pace of the game," said Johansen, who had three assists. "Everyone on our club was going tonight, and it's a good feeling when we're all on the same page because we're a great hockey team. We're going to keep looking to play like we did tonight now."

They said it

"They're a good hockey team. They're solid at every position. Their defense controlled their game with their feet. They're hard on pucks. I think there's a lot of good teams, but they're certainly one of them. -- Kings coach John Stevens
"I think we all have a lot of confidence in each other, and we know the potential and the skill we have in this locker room. I think we have to expect that from us every single night. I feel like the results have been there for us, but I think that our level of play has been up and down. It's a good sign that we're still winning games, but tonight was the total opposite. We were dominating all 60 minutes and played a really solid game. I think this is obviously a step in the right direction and hopefully we can continue from here. I really liked the way we played." -- Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne
