Jeff Carter Plays in His 1,000th NHL Game

LA Kings forward Jeff Carter played in his 1,000th regular-season game
against the Vegas Golden Knights
at STAPLES Center. It also marked his 500th regular-season appearance as a member of the Kings.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion (2012, 2014) with the Kings, Carter becomes the 338th player in NHL history to reach the 1,000 games-played plateau and the 23rd to do so while skating in a Kings sweater. All-time, he becomes the 57th player to have played for the Kings to reach the milestone.

During his NHL career, he has amassed 712 career points (370-342=712), 513 penalty minutes and a plus-53 rating in 999 regular-season games with three different clubs; the Flyers (2005-11; 461 games), Columbus Blue Jackets (2011-12; 39 games) and Kings (2012-current; 499 games).

A native of London, Ontario, Carter has also skated in 120 career NHL playoff games and played an integral role in helping the Kings capture both of the franchise's Stanley Cups. In 2012, he scored the game-winning overtime goal Game 2 and the Cup-clinching goal in Game 6 to help the Kings capture the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

He later tallied 25 points (10-15=25) in 26 games, tying for second in the NHL during the team's 2014 Stanley Cup run.

Internationally, Carter has represented Canada six times, winning gold medals at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, 2005 IIHF World Junior Championship and 2003 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship.
He is in a very select group of players to have won the Stanley Cup (2012, 2014), an Olympic gold medal (2014), a Calder Cup Championship (AHL Championship, 2005 with Philadelphia) and an IIHF World Junior Championship gold medal (2005).
