David Quenneville shot to the top of the Medicine Hat Tigers scoring lead last week.
The Islanders' 2016 seventh-round pick (200th overall) recorded six points (2G, 4A) last week and now sits atop the Tigers scoring lead with 14 points (2G, 12A) in seven games this season.
Last week, Quenneville had a four-point night (1G, 3A) in a 5-2 win over Saskatoon Blades on Friday. Quenneville was involved on four of the Tigers' five goals and was named the first star of the game. Two nights earlier, the Edmonton, AB native potted his first goal of the season and added an assist in a 5-4 win over Everett. Quenneville's assist was the 100th of his WHL career.
Quenneville is off to the best start of his junior career, riding a seven-game point streak out of the gate. The offensive defenseman is currently second in scoring among WHL blueliners.
On Tuesday, Quenneville was selected to Team WHL for the 2017 CIBC Canada-Russia series. The Islanders prospect and WHL selects will play Team Russia in Moose Jaw, Sask., on Monday, Nov 6, and play in Swift Current on Tuesday, November 7th.
