McDavid scores two, Brossoit gets shutout for Oilers against Hurricanes @NHLdotcom

Connor McDavid scored two goals in 92 seconds in the third period to help the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

McDavid scored on a shorthanded breakaway at 10:30 to give Edmonton a 3-0 lead, and at 12:02 to make it 4-0.

Laurent Brossoit made 24 saves for the shutout.

Zack Kassian put the Oilers ahead 1-0 1:49 into the game when he skated around the net and beat goalie Cam Ward with a backhand shot. Milan Lucic made it 2-0 at 13:16 after he took a pass to the right of the net from Leon Draisaitl on the power play.

Ward had 18 saves.
