Ryan Lomberg

Ryan Lomberg will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

The Calgary Flames forward is facing discipline for a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation with Minnesota Wild defensemen Matt Dumba on Thursday.
Lomberg received an automatic one-game suspension, and Flames coach Bill Peters was fined $10,000, under rule 46.22, instigating in the final five minutes of regulation.
The incident occurred at 19:17 of the third period of Calgary's 2-0 win at Scotiabank Saddledome. Lomberg was assessed a minor penalty for instigator, a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
