Colorado Avalanche Minnesota Wild Semyon Varlamov Helmet Focus 4 October 2018

In the second half of a back-to-back set tonight, the Colorado Avalanche is expected to turn to Semyon Varlamov in goal for a Division Rival Night game against the Dallas Stars.
The Avalanche defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-1 on Friday at Gila River Arena behind a 37-save performance from goaltender Philipp Grubauer.

"We are not going to bring them into the rink tomorrow, we want them rested," head coach Jared Bednar said after the win in Arizona. "We will hit all of our meetings tomorrow evening. Dallas is in a similar situation, they are playing tonight and trying to travel in so it's an even playing field.
"I would like to gain an advantage when we are at home, but unfortunately this game we don't. It's a big game. Dallas and us are neck and neck in the standings, so it's a big game for us. It should be easy to get up for."
Varlamov made 33 saves and he earned his 200th career NHL win in his last outing, the Avs' 7-3 victory at the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.
Colorado did not hold a morning skate today, so the lineup won't be known until closer to puck drop.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on the team's forward combinations and defensive pairings from Friday's game at the Coyotes. They are subject to change.
