Lightning make history with OT win over Rangers

Victor Hedman scored 3:25 into overtime to lift the Bolts to 4-3 win over the Rangers and a franchise record 10th straight victory.

The Bolts got off to a fast start, building a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes.
Tyler Johnson opened the scoring, one-timing home a feed from Nikita Kucherov eight minutes into the game. J.T. Miller followed that up with a power play goal from the crease seven minutes later to double Tampa Bay's lead.

New York was able to flip the script in the second period, scoring three times and outshooting the Bolts 17-8.
Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey and Boo Nieves all lit the lamp for the Blueshirts in the period.
A Dan Girardi goal three minutes into the period helped Tampa Bay get to the dressing room tied at three.
The Rangers kept the pressure turned up in the third period, creating several dangerous chances. Andrei Vasilevskiy was called upon to make some big saves down the stretch to help Tampa Bay force the game into overtime.
A few minutes after being stopped on a breakaway earlier in the extra frame, Hedman got redemption, scoring off a feed from Stamkos to secure the history-making win for the Lightning.

With his first period goal, Johnson reached 300 career points. Kucherov recorded three assists, giving him points in eight of his last nine games.
The Lightning's penalty kill was strong once again, going a perfect six-for-six on the night. The Bolts PK has now successfully killed off 25 consecutive penalties.
Tampa Bay wraps up the back-to-back tomorrow night at TD Garden in Boston vs. the Bruins.
