5️⃣ Things To Know For Tonight's Game

  1. The LA Kings remain in search of their first victory of the season, entering tonight's game against Boston as one of two teams around the NHL yet to enter the win column.
  2. The Kings appear to be making some changes to their forward lines for tonight's game. Forward Alex Laferriere appears likely to jump up on the top line with Artemi Panarin and Adrian Kempe, with Quinton Byfield set to skate on a line with Trevor Moore and Erik Haula. The Kings have scored just one goal in each of their last three games, with a focus tonight on generating more offense.
  3. Defenseman Brandt Clarke buried his first goal of the season on Tuesday, the only Kings goal in a 4-1 defeat against Edmonton. Clarke has now collected four points (1-3-4) in five games and is tied with Panarin for the team lead in scoring in the early stages of the season, while his three assists lead all Kings skaters.
  4. The Kings and Bruins played a pair of 2-1 games last season, with Boston winning both in overtime. Moore had assists on both goals the Kings scored, with the primary helper on Joel Armia's goal at Crypto.com Arena in November, as well as Drew Doughty's at TD Garden in March.
  5. Seven of the last 11 games between the Kings and Bruins have gone into overtime, including both last season. Boston has won four of the seven, with the Kings winning three. The last time that both Kings/Bruins matchups ended in regulation was the 2016-17 season.

Kings - Alex Laferriere: Expected to play on the first line tonight for the first time this season, Laferriere enters the game one point shy of the team lead with three points (1-2-3). Laferriere has two goals in six career games versus Boston, including his first career NHL goal, which came against the Bruins in Los Angeles back in 2023.

Bruins - Charlie McAvoy: After missing the first six games of the 2026-27 regular season due to suspension, McAvoy made his season debut on Tuesday in San Jose, scoring in a win over the Sharks. McAvoy posted career highs in assists (50) and points (61) last season, leading all Boston defensemen.
