5️⃣ Things To Know For Today's Game

1. The 2026 preseason comes to a close this afternoon, as the Kings host the Anaheim Ducks. 
2. Expect to see close to a full lineup this afternoon for the Kings. After splitting their veterans across the first three exhibition games, Los Angeles will ice what could be a preview of its opening-night lineup in today's game, with the bulk of the team's NHL regulars expected to dress. 
3. Included in that mix is the top forward line of Artemi Panarin, Quinton Byfield and Adrian Kempe, which debuted on Tuesday, September 22, with Kempe collecting a power-play assist. Behind that line, it will be interesting to see how the Kings align the rest of their forwards, with a first look at how things could shape up in Colorado for the season opener. 
4. The Kings are "hopeful" that forward Mats Zuccarello, who has missed the first three preseason games with a shoulder injury, could feature this afternoon. Zuccarello was a full-contact participant in practice yesterday and if he is ready to go, he would be in line to play a game in a Kings jersey for the first time after signing a one-year contract over the summer. 
5. Today's game is the preseason finale, with the regular season on the horizon! The Kings visit Colorado and San Jose to begin their schedule, before returning home for a 7 PM puck drop against the Florida Panthers on October 6 for the home opener in Los Angeles.

Players to Watch

Kings - Drew Doughty: Doughty will wear the "C" on his jersey in Los Angeles for the first time in this afternoon's preseason finale. Doughty collected an assist in his preseason debut on Wednesday in Anaheim, a primary helper on forward Joel Armia's game-winning goal. 

Ducks - Leo Carlsson: Carlsson will top the depth chart down the middle this afternoon for Anaheim. Carlsson signed a five-year offer sheet with Philadelphia over the summer, which Anaheim matched, solidifying his place in Orange Country with a long-term contract.
