Head coach Todd McLellan will be behind the bench for his 1,000th NHL regular-season game tonight and is being honored with a pregame video recognizing his accomplishment. He becomes the 31st coach in NHL history to reach the milestone.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Bally Sports West prior to the 7:30 p.m. game against the Seattle Kraken at Crypto.com Arena. Fans attending the game are encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats for the video celebration prior to puck drop.

Currently in his third season with the Kings and 14th season as a head coach in the NHL, he has previously been with the San Jose Sharks (seven years) and Edmonton Oilers (four years). In total, he has a 520-367-112 record in his 999 games (.577 points percentage). He ranks 25th all-time in wins and 6th among active coaches. Over the course of his career, he has led his team to a playoff berth seven times, including one Presidents Trophy (2008-09) and three division titles (2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11).
Internationally, he won a gold medal as the head coach of Team Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Championship, leading them to a perfect 10-0-0 record and outscoring their opponents 66-15. He was also the Head Coach of Team North America at the 2017 World Cup of Hockey.
