Defenseman Brayden McNabb signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
McNabb, who has spent the past two seasons with the Kings, could have become a restricted free agent on July 1. The contract is worth $3.4 million, an average annual value of $1.7 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 6-foot-4, 216-pound defenseman had 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 81 games in the regular season and played in all five of the Kings' Stanley Cup Playoff games this season.
McNabb, 25, was picked by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (No. 66) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He was traded with two draft picks to Los Angeles for forwards Hudson Fasching and Nicolas Deslauriers on March 5, 2014.
McNabb has 46 points (five goals, 41 assists) in 189 NHL games.
