Five LA Kings prospects took the ice on Monday night at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton, looking to advance to the final championship game.

In a yet another dominant performance, the Kings 2020 first-round draft pick Quinton Byfield and Team Canada ousted the Russians 5-0 in the first semifinal.
With the victory, Team Canada heads into the gold medal game having outscored their opponents 41-4 in the tournament through six games. Monday night's game between the rivals was their 28th meeting in the last 28 years. Canada's win expanded their lead in the series to 15-12-1.
Team Canada now heads into the gold medal game looking to be the first back-to-back gold medalist since 2009.

The second semifinal game between the Americans and Finland had Kings prospects filling the stat sheet, with all four players recording a point. In the action-packed battle, Alex Turcotte netted the game's first goal, assisted from Arthur Kaliyev and Brock Faber.

After building a 3-1 lead going into the third period, team USA couldn't hold the lead as Simontieval and the Finland battled back to tie the contest with just 3:43 to go in regulation.
But Team USA and the Arty Party, a.k.a Kaliyev, tallied the game-winning goal from the slot off of a pass from Turcotte putting the Americans past the Fins in the night's second semifinal.
