LA Kings Player of the Week: Dustin Brown

The LA Kings only played two games last week, but they sure did bring us entertainment!
We saw the Kings extend their win streak to five games, the longest of the season... and the best part? They did it in two completely different ways, with a tightly contested 1-0 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs and a 7-3 barnburner win against the Minnesota Wild.
So... without further ado, I present you the three Kings of the Week.

3. Jonathan Quick

The longtime netminder of the Kings had a night to remember against the Maple Leafs on Thursday as he shut out the high-octane playoff contenders.
Quick made 36 saves in regulation and overtime and gave up just one goal on four attempts in the shootout, giving the Kings the well-earned win. Quick holds the record for most shutouts by an American born goalie in the NHL with 52.

2. Anze Kopitar

The captain also had himself a day against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday as he recorded three points (1-2=3) and went plus-five. It was just the second time in his career that Kopitar went plus-five in a game.
Furthermore, Kopitar also scored the first of the two shootout goals against Maple Leafs in Thursday nights 1-0 win. I know it's "King of the Week," but it shouldn't go without mentioning that Kopitar has picked up the pace as of late, having registered 15 points (4-11=15) in the last 11 games.

1. Dustin Brown

Brown's week consisted of four points (3-1=4), eight shots, eight hits and a plus-4 in just two games.
He recorded his sixth career hat trick on Saturday in the 7-3 win against the Minnesota Wild. All three of Brown's goals came in the third period, as he tallied the eventual game-winning goal just 4:00 into the period, giving the Kings a 4-1 lead.
Brown's second goal of the game was the dagger, giving the Kings a 5-3 lead with only 2:13 left in the game. Lastly, the right-winger finished off the memorable night with an empty net goal for his hat trick and lead the Kings past the surging Minnesota Wild.
