The LA Kings will join the LA Galaxy and the Torrance Community Services Department in hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 21, to celebrate the new look of the roller rink at Charles H. Wilson Park. The upgrades to the facility include a new scoreboard and refreshed signage, enabling the expansion of hockey programming in the City of Torrance and the greater South Los Angeles community.

The festivities mark the beginning of a five-year sponsorship of the facility by the two sports teams, both of which are members of the AEG family of companies. Following the ceremony, which will run from 2:45 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m., the Kings and Galaxy will respectively host youth ball hockey and soccer clinics in partnership with the YMCA from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in both sports with coaching from Kings and Galaxy staff and an interactive target practice activation. Additionally, all guests and clinic participants will be able to enjoy the Kings’ Gaming Trailer, browse informational booths, and collect complimentary team-branded items.

The ceremony itself will be emceed by the host of “LA Kings Live,” Patrick O’Neal, with additional remarks provided by LA Kings alumnus and TV Analyst, Jim Fox, LA Galaxy President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Braun, and Torrance Mayor, Sharon Kalani.

Charles H. Wilson Park is located at 2200 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, and offers free parking on-site to visitors.
