The LA Kings lost their sixth consecutive game to begin the 2026-27 season, falling by a 4-1 final score against the Boston Bruins on Saturday evening at Crypto.com Arena.
It took just 31 seconds for the new-look top line to get on the board, as Alex Laferriere opened the scoring. After Laferriere fed forward Artemi Panarin for a controlled zone entry, the Kings went to work in the offensive end. Laferriere then skated to the front of the net and a deflected a point shot by defenseman Brandt Clarke, which was saved, but forward Adrian Kempe collected the rebound and fed Laferriere for the game-opening goal.
Boston tied the game inside the first three minutes of the second period. Forward David Pastrnak converted on a solo effort, starting in his own defensive zone. The Czechia native got a tip on a puck along the wall, deflecting it out to center. Pastrnak then won the footrace to the puck in transition, skated into the offensive zone with possession and snapped a wrist shot from the top of the right-hand circle, inside the far post and in to tie the game 1-1.
Late in the third period, the Bruins pulled ahead on a preventable goal in front of the Kings net. Goaltender Anton Forsberg made a save but couldn’t control the rebound. As he went to try and pull it in, it looked like a Kings stick might’ve knocked the puck loose, without an attempt to tie up sticks in front. Forward Maxim Khusnutdinov worked the puck free and slid it into an empty net for the go-ahead goal.
Boston picked the empty net twice inside the final three minutes of regulation – with goals from forwards Elias Lindholm and JJ Peterka – sealing a 4-1 victory on the road.
Hear from Laferriere, defenseman Mikey Anderson and Head Coach Peter Laviolette after tonight’s game.
