GAME NOTES - MORNING SKATE UPDATES
Only two teams have been able to hold the Islanders dynamic offense off the scoreboard this season and the Dallas Stars were one of them.
After a 5-0 loss in Dallas on December 10, the Islanders get a shot at redemption when they host the Stars on Wednesday night at Barclays Center. This is the second and final meeting this season between the Isles and Stars.

Having this rematch on their turf bodes well for the Islanders, who have won four straight home games against the Stars - by a combined 23-11 score - and own one of the best home records in the NHL. The Islanders are 9-1-2 at Barclays Center this season and are 26-4-5 against Western Conference foes since playing in Brooklyn.
Wednesday's game kicks off a home-and-road, back-to-back set for the Islanders, who play in Columbus on Thursday. The Islanders are coming off a 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Monday night.

LINEUP NOTES:

Jaroslav Halak will start in goal for the Islanders for the fourth straight game. Johnny Boychuk will be a gametime decision and the forward corps will remain the same from Monday's win.
"We're running with Jaro a little bit," head coach Doug Weight said. "He's earned it. It doesn't have to be a controversy. The fact is he's playing pretty well right now. He's going to play the majority until things change."

The Stars snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout win over the New York Rangers on Monday and enter Wednesday's game as the second wild card in the Western Conference. The Stars are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games.
The Stars are led by their dynamic duo of Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. Seguin leads Dallas in team scoring with 28 points (14G, 14A) so far this season and has three points (2G, 1A) in his last five games. Captain Jamie Benn trails closely behind Seguin, with 26 points (12G, 14A) in the season, putting him second in team scoring. Benn has four points (1G, 3A) in his last five games.
While Seguin and Benn command a lot of attention, defenseman John Klingberg has become an offensive force for the Stars. Klingberg leads NHL defensemen in scoring with 25 points (4G, 21A) in 31 games this season.
