GAME NOTES
After playing at NYCB LIVE on Saturday, the New York Islanders head back to Barclays Center for a Tuesday night matchup against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Jets are wrapping up a three-game Metropolitan Division swing, while the Isles are finishing a two-game (in two building) homestand. The Islanders are 11-5-1 vs the Jets since they moved back to Manitoba.


ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • Josh Bailey is one point shy of 400 for his career. Bailey has 131 goals and 268 points in 740 games - all with the Islanders.
    - Anders Lee has goals in back-to-back games. Lee is tied with Brock Nelson for the team lead in goals (9).
    - Anthony Beauvillier has eight points (6G, 2A) in his last eight games.
    - Scott Mayfield has five assists in his last five games. Mayfield has 13 points (3G, 10A) this season, leading the Isles defensemen in goals, assists and points. Mayfield's 13 points are a career-high.
    - The Islanders power play is 0-for-15 over the past seven games.

  • The Jets are third in the Central Division with 34 points.
    - The Jets have won three straight and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.
    - The Islanders will face off against one of the league's most gifted goal scorers in Patrik Laine on Tuesday night. Laine leads the league with 21 tallies this season and his 101 career goals are tied (with Alex Ovechkin) for the most in the NHL since the start of 2016-17, when he entered the league. The 20-year-old Finn has gamebreakinig potential, as showcased by his five-goal game on Nov. 24 vs St. Louis. Laine was named the NHL's First Star of the Month for November.
    - Blake Wheeler leads the Jets in assists (30) and points (34).
    - Mark Scheifele has 32 points (16G, 16A) in 26 games this season. Scheifele was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday.
    - Dustin Byfuglien has been out since Nov. 24 with a concussion.
