1. Came into the NHL with great promise
Selected No. 4 overall by the New York Islanders in the 2012 NHL Draft, Reinhart was expected to be a star at the NHL level.
During his time in New York and with the Edmonton Oilers, however, Reinhart has yet to live up to his pre-draft billing from five years ago.
But bearing in mind that defensemen usually take longer than forward to mature and Reinhart is still only 23-years-old, he comes to the Golden Knights as a low risk, high reward option on the blue line.

2. Comes from a hockey family
Which to many, often suggests that a player will have a higher hockey IQ, based on being around the game at a high level from a young age.
Reinhart's father, Paul, played over a decade in the NHL (mostly in the 1980s) for the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks.
His brother, Sam, was drafted No. 2 overall in 2014 and plays for the Buffalo Sabres, while another brother, Max, plays in the Ottawa Senators' farm system.
3. Plays a defense-first style
With the exception of his draft year when he played juniors, Reinhart has never eclipsed 30 points in a season playing in a recognized level of major hockey.
Where his game lies is in playing defense first, and using his size to hammer opponents.
By hockey terms, Reinhart is an old-school defenseman.
