As Calvin Pickard arrived in Coeur d'Alene for the #VGKRoadTrip on Tuesday, there was a bit of an 800-pound gorilla in the room.
Whatever happened with #PicksMaskContest?
Has the Golden Knights goalie finished combing through fan entries and decided what his goalie mask will look like this season?
Taking a quick break from participating in an open skate at the Frontier Ice Center this evening, Pickard provided an update on where the process currently stands.

"I'm now in the final part of the process of picking designs," Pickard said. "There was a great deal of submissions. It was a tough process to look through them, because there were so many good ideas.

"I was so impressed by what people could whip up on their laptops. The designs and how thorough they were. The ideas were widespread. And yeah, I even saw the Siegfried and Roy entry, and a ton of different things related to Vegas, I saw. There were also ideas that were simple, team oriented, city skyline and incorporating different buildings from The Strip and the mountains. It was a really good group of designs."

Pickard wasn't ready to reveal which design he'll be selecting.

He did, however, say that he's leaning toward something where he's incorporate the entries of multiple fans.
Multiple winners.
A mask that isn't one person's entry as much as it incorporates various ideas selected by different fans.
"I think there's going to be a couple, a few entries we're going to use, because there were so many good ideas," Pickard said. "It's hard to pick just one.
"We'll be releasing it pretty soon."
