As a result of tonight's NHL Draft Lottery, the Flyers will select fifth overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Entering the night, the Flyers had the fourth-best odds to win the first drawing with a 9.5 percent chance at the first overall pick, however the Montreal Canadiens, who had the best odds at 18.5 percent, won the lottery to select the top spot.

The New Jersey Devils won the second lottery drawing and will now select second overall. The Devils leapfrog over three teams (Arizona, Seattle, Flyers) to move up and cause the Flyers to move back from their original starting position of fourth to now select fifth overall.
This year's draft will be the first time the Flyers are picking fifth or higher since the 2017 NHL Entry Draft when they held the second overall pick (Nolan Patrick).
The 2022 NHL Entry Draft will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal beginning with the First Round on Thursday, July 7 and Rounds 2-7 resuming on Friday, July 8.
BRENT FLAHR - Flyers Vice President and Assistant General Manager
"Anytime you go through a year like we had, it's been tough on everybody, but the one thing we get is a top pick. This year, getting a Top 5 pick, there are lot of players we like high up on the board and we're going to get a quality player that's really going to help the organization in the coming years."
