1. GIVEN THE CHANCE...
The Flyers have their first chance to win a series and eliminate an opponent from the playoffs in seven years - since Game 7 vs. Rangers in the 2014 East Quarterfinals... The Flyers have a 43-33 record when given the chance to eliminate an opponent, as well as a 14-8 record in Game 5's, but also own a 20-2 series record when leading 3-1 in a series... The Canadiens own a 32-30 mark when facing elimination since NHL expansion in 1967-68.
2. TAKE THE UNDER
With 11 combined goals scored in this series, the Canadiens actually lead in total goals scored (6-5) despite trailing 3 games to 1... This is the lowest scoring of any series in both the Qualifying and First Round thus far and is one of only two series to have featured three shutouts (CBJ-TOR)... The Flyers are first team to lead a seven-game series after four games while scoring only five goals.
3. WHAT COMES FIRST...
For both teams throughout the entire playoffs, the team that scores first has won the game, and both teams are perfect when leading after the first period (PHI: 4-0-0 & MTL: 2-0-0)... In this series, 10 of the 11 total goals scored have been in the first (5) and second (5) periods… The Flyers have scored the first goal in six of their seven playoff games.
4. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
THIS: The Flyers are tied for the NHL lead in face-off win percentage at 56.8%, and lead the playoffs in offensive zone face-off win percentage at 65.3%, while the Canadiens are ranked last in face-off percentage at 43.2%... THAT: Among goaltenders to play four games so far, Carter Hart leads the playoffs in GAA (1.24) and save percentage (.958), while Carey Price is second in GAA (1.48) and third in save percentage (.949)... THE OTHER: Despite scoring just five goals in the series, the Flyers have had 11 different players find the scoresheet, while the Habs have scored six goals and also had 11 different players record at least a point.
5. PLAYERS TO WATCH
FLYERS (LW: #12 - Michael Raffl)
Raffl has two goals and an assist for three points in three playoff games so far, which matches his point total from his first 19 playoff games... He's also had a lot of success against the Habs - he is tied for the most goals against the Canadiens than any other team in his career with six goals in 17 regular season games.
CANADIENS (LW: #90 - Tomas Tatar)
Tatar posted two goals in the Habs Game 2 win, but since they has been held without a shot in the last two games - Tatar has not gone three games-in-a-row without a shot in over six years, since Mar. 14-18 in the 2013-14 season... He led the team with five points (3g-2a) in the three-game regular season series vs. Flyers.
