Alexander Holtz scored twice as
Team A defeated Team C, 5-3
, at Saturday afternoon's scrimmage.
Mackenzie Blackwood got his first taste of game action, playing just under half the game.
"I feel physically good," Blackwood said post-game, "now for me it's just cleaning up the details, fine tuning stuff, getting game speed. Physically I'm capable of doing everything its' just a matter of dialing in the small details and getting my game crisp."
Earlier in the day Fabian Zetterlund arrived at camp and practiced with Group B. Zetterlund was delayed arriving in New Jersey due to his visa.
Today's scrimmage was exclusively streamed on the new New Jersey Devils app. Make sure you're up to date and download the latest app!

Scrimmage Recap

Blackwood has come into camp with a great attitude, Lindy Ruff mentioned after the scrimmage as well as better practice habits, things of which the club is taking notice.
"We don't expect everything in one day, or one scrimmage, or half a scrimmage but we're evaluating on practices and I just think he'll keep feeling better and better."
As for Holtz, who scored twice. He said he is feeling strong and faster, which were two areas of his game he focused on this off-season.

Speaking of Holtz, off the opening faceoff of the second period he clipped Miles Wood in the face, his stick making direct contact with Wood's mouth. Miles skated off the ice and would later return. No harm, no foul.
