The Devils begin a three-game homestand Monday night against Ottawa. And the homestand couldn't have come at a better time.
New Jersey is coming off back-to-back road losses in Minnesota and Winnipeg and is in the midst of a three-game losing streak. However, the club has played well at home so far this season, evidenced by a 6-4-2 record.
The Devils hope a home stretch is exactly what is needed to dig themselves out of their current funk.
"We have played well here," head coach Lindy Ruff said. "We've talked about playing well at home. It's an important place to get points, and it's an important time for us."

The Devils were just 7-18-3 at home last season. They're already close to matching their win total from last season through just 12 games. The crowd has made a difference for the team at Prudential Center.
"We feel good at home," said Andreas Johnsson, who leads the team with nine goals. "It's a good time for us to get back on track.
"Fans are back. I love having the fans back. It gives you energy. When they cheer on you, it gives you energy."
