HS Hockey Dec PR

The New Jersey Devils High School Player of the Month Program continues this season.

Players named for December 2018 are: senior goalie Matt Schoer (Pope John XXIII, Gordon Conference); senior goalie Luke Joyce (Lakeland, Big North Conference); junior forward Aidan Trainor (Princeton, Colonial Valley Conference); senior forward Samuel Charlat (Millburn, Essex/Union County); senior defenseman Jack Bokun (Vernon, Morris County); junior forward Jude Kurtas (Hillsborough, GMC/Skyland Conference); junior forwards and brothers Mike Franzoni and Matt Franzoni (Manasquan/Point Pleasant Beach, Shore Conference); freshman forward Leah Rubinshteyn (Summit, Girls Hockey).
Each month, December through February, student-athletes from throughout the state are selected as recipients of the award. Public A, Public B, Public C and Non-Public All-Tournament Teams will be selected in March and an overall Boys and Girls High School Player of the Year will be chosen after the conclusion of the season.

Winners are based on nominations received from members of the media who cover the state's scholastic hockey. Award winners and their guests receive tickets to a Devils game and a certificate presented by a Devils player. This marks the 27th season that the Devils are honoring high school student-athletes.
