The 2019 Congressional Hockey Challenge will be played at Capital One Arena on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. The 11th annual event, a charity hockey game pitting Lawmakers, Administration officials and Congressional staff against Lobbyists from a variety of industries and interests, will continue to benefit the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club, USA Warriors Hockey, the Capitol Beltway Warriors and other hockey-related charities.

Orpik to Play in His 1,000th Career NHL Game Tonight against St. Louis

Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik is scheduled to play in his 1,000th career NHL game tonight against the St. Louis Blues. Orpik will become the 330th all-time player, 114th defenseman and 22nd active player to play in 1,000 NHL games.

The Capitals will hold a pre-game ceremony on Friday, Jan.18, prior to hosting the New York Islanders to honor the milestone. During the ceremony, Orpik will receive a special gift from the organization, the National Hockey League and his teammates. Capitals President Dick Patrick will join Orpik's wife, Erin, on the ice to honor Orpik.
