Game Notes: Canucks vs. Bruins

The Canucks host the Bruins for their first of a two-game homestand. They welcome the Capitals to Rogers Arena on Oct. 22. The Canucks and Bruins play their first of two games this season starting tonight. The Canucks visit the TD Garden on Nov. 8.

MORNING SKATE UPDATE:

Coach Green confirms that Jacob Markstrom will get the start. This will be his first opportunity in net since October 9th in Carolina.

VERSUS BRUINS NOTES:

• In 2017.18, seven Canucks skaters registered two points in the season series versus the Bruins. Bo Horvat and Loui Eriksson both recorded two goals.
• Michael Del Zotto has 11 points (3-8-11) in 24 career games versus the Bruins.
• Loui Eriksson played three seasons for the Bruins between 2013 and 2016, recording 147 points (62-85-147) in 224 games. In six career games against his former team, he has recorded five points (3-2-5).
• Adam Gaudette was born and rasied in the Boston suburb of Braintree, MA. He played collegiate hockey at nearby Northeastern where he became the first player in school history to win the Hobey Baker Award.
• Markus Granlund has three goals in four career games versus Boston.
• Bo Horvat has six points (3-3-6) in eight career games versus Boston.
• Jacob Markstrom is 1-3-0 along with a 2.71 GAA and .906 save percentage in five career games versus Boston.

• Brandon Sutter leads all active Canucks in scoring against the Bruins with 12 points (5-7-12) in 28 career games.

• Brock Boeser scored his first career overtime goal 34 seconds into the extra frame on Oct. 16 at PIT; it was his seventh career game-winning goal which leads all Canucks players since his NHL debut on March 25, 2017 - two more than Daniel Sedin (5) over that span. He had a four game scoring streak (2-2-4) from Oct. 9-16.
• Alex Edler is tied for 10th in the League for scoring among defencemen (0-5-5) and 10th for TOI/GP (25:25) among blueliners.
• Elias Pettersson leads all rookies in scoring with eight points (5-3-8) and goals (5); he ranks t-9th in the league in goals scored. He is also one of 19 players to have scored in five or more consecutive games and the only rookie so far to accomplish the feat.
• Alex Edler leads the League in blocked shots (35) while Chris Tanev ranks third (20).
• Bo Horvat ranks fifth in face-off wins (81), fourth in even-strength face-off wins (66) and sixth in faceoffs taken (145).
• Anders Nilsson is currently tied for fourth in wins (3). Among goaltender to play in at least four games, Nilsson ranks ninth with a .925 save percentage.
