NJD@MTL: Kotkaniemi lights the lamp in Habs debut

Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored in his Montreal Canadiens debut, helping them to a 3-1 win against the New Jersey Devils at Bell Centre.

Kotkaniemi, the No. 3 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, scored Montreal's third goal in 1:32 at 4:40 of the third period. Victor Mete made it 1-1 at 3:08 before Charles Hudon gave Montreal a 2-1 lead at 4:11.
Antti Niemi started for the Canadiens and made eight saves in 30:56. Charles Lindgren made the save on all eight shots he faced.
Blake Speers gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal at 6:42 of the first period.
Eddie Lack started for New Jersey and made the save on all 13 shots he faced through the first two periods. Mackenzie Blackwood made nine saves in the third.
