NHL 20 MIN Minnesota Wild J.T. Compher simulation

J.T. Compher scored the game-winner in the final minute of regulation to help the digital Colorado Avalanche avoid overtime and earn a 2-1 victory against the Minnesota Wild at virtual Pepsi Center on Wednesday in a simulated game of EA Sports' NHL 20.
Minnesota recorded the game's first goal with 38 seconds remaining in the opening period, but the Mikko Rantanen's avatar tied the contest for Colorado at 1-1 early in the third frame.

Defensemen Erik Johnson and Cale Makar assisted on Rantanen's tying tally, while Colin Wilson and Matt Calvert each assisted on Compher's game-winner.
Goaltender Philipp Gruabuer, who has been in net for all three virtual Avalanche games, made 16 saves in the matchup. The Avs and Wild both had one power-play opportunity in the simulation, but neither team converted on the chance.
Ryan Hartman scored Minnesota's goal with helpers from Jordan Greenway and Jared Spurgeon. Netminder Devan Dubnyk made 18 saves.
During live regular season action prior to the NHL's pause of the 2019-20 campaign, the real-life Avalanche is 2-2-0 versus the Wild and the final meeting of the yearly series was scheduled to take place on March 23 in Minnesota.
Colorado returns to virtual action next Wednesday when the team hosts the Carolina Hurricanes.
