The Colorado Avalanche hosts the Anaheim Ducks for a one-game set on Monday in the third matchup of its six-game homestand.
Colorado (21-8-4) fell 3-2 in the overtime against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, earning at least a point in a season-best 10 straight meetings (8-0-2). Joonas Donskoi scored for the second consecutive contest and Devon Toews found the back of the net for the sixth time this year--leading all Avalanche defensemen in tallies. Samuel Girard extended his point streak to a season-long three games (tied) and netminder Philipp Grubauer stopped 31-of-34 shots on the night.

Anaheim is coming off a 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday after fighting back from a 2-0 deficit to improve to 11-19-6 on the season. Josh Manson ended the game in the extra frame to collect his first-career overtime goal and his first marker of the year. Max Jones registered two assists for his first multi-point contest of the campaign, while goaltender Anthony Stolarz made 38 saves in his first start of the year.
Monday's matchup is the sixth meeting between the clubs this season and the final contest at Ball Arena. The squads will square off two more times on April 9-11 in California.

Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk was Colorado's first-round draft choice in 2007 (No. 14 overall) and began his career with the Avalanche in 2010-11… Ducks forward Andrew Agozzino was with the Colorado organization from 2013-2016 and 2017-2019... Anaheim forward Danton Heinen played at the University of Denver from 2014-16… Ducks forward Troy Terry was born in Denver and also skated at the University of Denver from 2015-18.

Devon Toews has registered six assists in five meetings versus the squad, which are tied for the team lead in points and the most points he has collected against any opponent this campaign. ROSTER REPORT

The Avalanche had an off day on Sunday, so its lineup likely won't be known until after morning skate. Dan Renouf played last game, replacing rookie Bowen Byram, who was out with an upper-body injury. Philipp Grubauer is expected to get his 28th start in between the pipes.

INJURY UPDATE

Head coach Jared Bednar said that Byram is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but he could be week-to-week. Matt Calvert (upper body) missed his second-straight contest on Saturday and is out week-to-week. Pavel Francouz (lower body) and Erik Johnson (upper body) are both out long term with injuries.
