Canada remained undefeated at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship with a 3-1 win against Slovakia on Sunday at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Canadians led 1-0 for most of the contest, but it wasn't until Philip Tomasino tallied with 3:35 remaining that the host country added some cushion to its advantage. Martin Chromiak found the back of the net with 84 seconds left to get Slovakia within one score, but Canada added an empty-net tally in the final ticks to seal its victory.
Colorado Avalanche prospect Bowen Byram led all Canadians with 22:48 of ice time and a plus-2 rating, while fellow Avs prospect and defenseman Justin Barron played 14:40. Colorado forward prospect Alex Newhook had two shots and a plus-1 rating in 16:21 of time on ice for Canada.
