Darryl Sittler
becomes the first player in the history of the Toronto Maple Leafs to have 100 points in a season when he is credited with an assist in the second period of a
4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins
at Maple Leaf Gardens.

Sittler scores his 41st goal of the season in the first period, then reaches 100 points in Toronto's 79th game of the season when he assists on a power-play goal by
Errol Thompson
. The Maple Leafs are the last of the Original Six teams to have a player score 100 points in a season.
The milestone comes just short of two months after Sittler sets an
NHL single-game record with 10 points
(six goals, four assists) against the Bruins on
Feb. 7, 1976
