bossy daughter

Josiane Bossy is using her art to honor her late father, New York Islanders legend Mike Bossy.

Josiane created a collage of her Hall of Fame forward father as part of Mike Bossy Night at UBS Arena on Saturday.
The artwork depicts the former Islanders star's 50th goal in 50 games during the 1980-81 season. Josiane used pictures of her dad throughout his career for the background of the piece.

"He was really loved as a person. It really touched me and it still does," Josiane said in a video posted by the Islanders on Twitter. "I want the Islanders to have something special and I thought that maybe I could do something for the Mike Bossy Night."

Bossy played 10 seasons for the Islanders from 1977-87 and is the team's all-time leading goal scored (573). He died after a battle with lung cancer in April.
Prints of the painting are available for purchase.
The Islanders also honored their former forward with a special video tribute from his former teammates.

Bossy's grandchildren, Alexe and Gabrielle, acted as the Islanders honorary flag captains for the night.
