SAN JOSE -San Jose Sharks digital media department announced today that the new iOS 10.2 update includes the long-awaited shark emoji. The emoji is now ready for overuse on on all the favorite social media channels, in-mobile device messaging systems and countless areas reserved for internet banter.
"This is a momentous day in the history of the franchise," a team spokesman said. "No longer will our social media accounts have to endure the use of the dolphin emoji in tweets by fans and other teams."
The shark emoji ranks 1st among new emojis released in popularity (massive) and uses (thousands) in one career day in the Unicode.
The team's social media accounts will immediately begin to use the shark emoji across all platforms, whether necessary to the post or not.
