A family in Sharks Territory needs your help.
Purnell was diagnosed just before Mother's Day with a rare and fatal genetic disease called Niemann-Pick Type A (described by the family as baby Alzheimer's). Purnell is 13 months old, and the average lifespan for those with this disease is only 2 to 3 years.
Purnell, though he lives in Massachusetts, was born into a family of Sharks fans. His mom is a San Jose native and his grandparents are Sharks365 members.
The San Jose Sharks and Sharks Foundation are teaming up to help Purnell and his family by donating $10,000 to the Wylder Nation Foundation, which will help develop a gene therepy treatment that will hopefully manage or even cure Niemann-Pick Type A.

But the Sharks and Sharks Foundation aren't the only ones who can help save Purnell. Fans in Sharks Territory can donate to Purnell's GoFundMe, which will go towards the Wylder Nation Foundation as well.

The deadline for donations is June 30.
