Senators return Thomas Chabot to Saint John (QMJHL)

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has returned defenceman Thomas Chabot to Saint John of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Chabot, the Senators first, first-round pick (18th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft, made the National Hockey League roster out of traning camp and was held scoreless in one game with Ottawa.

The 19-year-old returns to the team where he established new major junior career highs with 45 points (11 goals, 34 assists) and 79 penalty minutes in 47 regular-seaon games, while recording 21 points (three goals) in 17 playoff games last season.

Chabot is likely to make his QMJHL season debut on Thursday when his Sea Dogs visit the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
