Three Stars of the Week

No. 1: Igor Shesterkin, G, SKA St. Petersburg (KHL) -Shesterkin was named KHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 9. He posted a shutout in each of his three appearances last week, stopping all 94 shots he faced in the three contests. Shesterkin has earned a shutout in each of his last four appearances, and he has an active shutout streak of 247:03.
The Rangers' fourth round pick (118th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has earned a win in each of his last eight appearances, posting a 1.12 GAA, a .959 SV%, and 4 SO over the span. In addition, the 20-year-old goaltender has registered at least one point in each of his last 11 appearances, posting a 10-0-1 record, along with a 1.26 GAA, a .955 SV%, and 5 SO in those contests.
Through 14 KHL appearances this season, Shesterkin has posted an 11-1-1 record, along with a 1.58 GAA, a .942 SV%, and 5 SO. He leads the KHL in SO, ranks fifth in the league in SV%, and ranks sixth in the league in GAA this season.
No. 2: Brad Morrison, C, Prince George Cougars (WHL) -Morrison tallied three points (two goals, one assist) in two contests last week. He registered two goals, including the game-winning goal, in Prince George's 5-4 win against Vancouver on Oct. 8. Morrison extended his point streak to four games, and he has tallied six points (four goals, two assists) in the four contests.
The Rangers' fourth round pick (113th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has recorded 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in eight games thus far this season. Morrison is tied for second in the WHL in points and ranks fourth in the league in assists this season. In addition, the 19-year-old has tallied a point in seven of the first eight games this season, helping the Cougars begin the season with an eight-game winning streak.
No. 3: Ty Ronning, RW, Vancouver Giants (WHL) - Ronning registered a point in each of the three games he played last week, recording three points (two goals, one assist) in those contests. The Rangers' seventh round pick (201st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has tallied a point in four of his first five WHL games this season, notching four points (two goals, two assists) in those contests. Although he has only played in five of Vancouver's first eight games this season, Ronning is tied for fourth on the team in goals, assists, and points thus far in 2016-17, and he ranks third on the team in points per game (0.80).

Sergey Zborovskiy, D, Regina Pats (WHL) -Zborovskiy notched a point in each of the two games he played last week (one goal, one assist). The Rangers' third round pick (79th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has tallied a point in each of his first four WHL games this season (one goal, three assists) and has posted a plus-nine rating in those contests. Zborovskiy is tied for first in the WHL - and leads WHL defensemen - in plus/minus rating this season.
Tyler Wall, G, UMass-Lowell River Hawks (NCAA)- Wall stopped 40 of 41 shots he faced while making his collegiate hockey debut on Oct. 8 against the University of Minnesota Duluth. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Sean Day, D, Mississauga Steelheads (OHL) -Day tallied one goal, posted a plus-one rating, and registered eight shots on goal in two games last week. The Rangers' third round pick (81st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft was selected as the game's Third Star in Mississauga's 3-2 shootout win against Flint on Oct. 7, as he recorded the game-tying goal at 19:42 of the third period to send the game to overtime.
Magnus Hellberg, G, Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) -Hellberg stopped 32 of 34 shots he faced in Hartford's preseason contest against Albany on Oct. 9.
Mackenzie Skapski, G, Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) -Skapski stopped 27 of 29 shots he faced in Hartford's preseason game against Springfield on Oct. 8.
