New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has named Phil Housley Associate Head Coach, and Dan Muse and Michael Peca Assistant Coaches with the Rangers.

Housley comes to the organization with over 20 years of coaching experience at multiple levels in hockey. Most recently he was an assistant coach for the Arizona Coyotes from 2019-2022. Housley previously served as the head coach for the Buffalo Sabres from 2017-2019 and was an assistant coach under Peter Laviolette in Nashville for four seasons (2013-2017). In addition to helping the Predators reach the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in franchise history in 2017, the team ranked in the top two in the league in goals by defensemen in every season with him on the bench and were in the top half in fewest goals allowed in each of his last three seasons with the organization.

The St. Paul, Minnesota native spent time coaching for Team USA at the international level, serving as an assistant coach at two IIHF World Junior Championships and three IIHF World Championships. Most notably, he served as the head coach when Team USA won the gold medal at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Drafted by Buffalo in the first round, sixth overall, in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Housley played 21 NHL seasons with the Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs, collecting 338 goals and 894 assists for 1,232 points in 1,495 career NHL games. A seven-time NHL All-Star (1984, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 2000), Housley won a gold medal at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympic games with Team USA. He was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.

Muse most recently served as the head coach of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program for the past three seasons in addition to guiding the U-18 team to multiple World Championships. Prior to joining the national program, Muse served as an assistant coach under Laviolette in Nashville for three seasons. Prior to his stint with Predators, Muse served as head coach of the USHL's Chicago Steel for two seasons, where he led the team to a Clark Cup championship in 2017. Additionally, the Canton, Massachusetts native spent time on staff at Yale University (2009-2015), where he helped the Bulldogs to the 2013 NCAA title.

Peca spent the last two seasons with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, serving as an assistant coach. His coaching at the pro level began when he was a member of Laviolette's staff in 2020-21 with the Capitals where he was a player development coach.

The Toronto, Ontario native skated in over 850 NHL games over 14 seasons between the Canucks, Sabres, Islanders, Oilers, Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets, where he tallied 465 points (176G-289A). He captained the Sabres to a Stanley Cup Final in 1999. Peca is a two-time winner (1996-97 - BUF, 2001-02 - NYI) of the Frank J. Selke Trophy, given annually "to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game."
