The National Hockey League announced today that New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week for the week ending on January 23.
In the past week (Jan. 17-23), Kreider has registered five goals and two assists for seven points in three games. In that span, his goals rank tied for second in the NHL and his points are tied for the most in the league with three others, including teammate Mika Zibanejad.
On January 19 against Toronto, Kreider scored his 25th goal of the season in the Rangers' win over the Maple Leafs.
